Description

Stop-Motion Animation is a captivating visual storytelling technique that offers a blend of technical and creative skills used in filmmaking, animation, and interactive design. Stop-Motion taps into foundational principles of motion and storytelling, using sequential images to evoke life-like movement and generate compelling narratives. Whether hand-drawn, photographic or found images, you will learn to observe and analyze movement in everyday life, and create realistic motion by considering timing, mass and volume. Stop-Motion is a great stepping stone into more advanced animation practices, and an excellent expansion of creative possibilities for drawing, illustration and photography skills. This online course is suited for those new to animation, as well as those interested in discovering new mediums of expression and storytelling. Assignments and projects accommodate a range of media suitable for use in the home, how to set up a space for creativity, and finding inspiration in everyday objects and spaces. The course offers both virtual class time with instructors and peers, and self-directed work time to complete projects with the support of the instructor.
