Art Appreciation for English Language Learners — Starts September 22nd!

Thursdays at 6:30pm (online) and Saturdays at 1:30 pm (on campus) | 10 sessions in total
$495.00 (includes admission fees)
This course is designed for students interested in improving their English communication skills and expanding their vocabulary related to visual arts. Students will participate in field trips to local galleries, visit public art sites and listen to lectures organized by ECU Speaker Series. Students will improve their communication skills by engaging in discussions about art making and art appreciation, as well as writing reflections, descriptions and exhibition reviews.
Storytelling for English Language Learners — Starts October 11!

Tuesdays at 6:30pm (online) and Saturdays at 9:30am (on campus) | 10 sessions in total

Merging creativity with English language learning, this course explores the elements of storytelling by looking at different mediums including comics, songs, fables, poetry, movies, and podcasts. With fun and dynamic projects, and peer and instructor feedback, you will develop your English storytelling skills with an emphasis on experimentation, playfulness, creation and presentation. Some key areas of language focus include grammar, pronunciation, art-related vocabulary, and the use of metaphor and simile.
