A Commitment to Safety, Respect and Inclusion

As we observe the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Canada on December 6, we reflect on the profound impact of gender-based violence and the importance of creating safe and equitable spaces. This day reminds us of the critical need to foster environments where respect, dignity, and safety are upheld for all. At Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECU), this commitment is at the heart of our efforts to support and protect our community members.

In alignment with this, we are announcing the launch of a dedicated Sexual Violence Prevention and Support website.

This resource has been thoughtfully designed to provide clear and accessible information about:

  • Anonymous reporting options for sexual and gender-based violence.
  • Confidential support services available to students, staff, and faculty.
  • Education and prevention initiatives that promote respect and equity.

We recognize that conversations about sexual violence require care and sensitivity. Whether you are seeking support, looking to understand your rights, or wishing to contribute to a culture of safety and accountability, this webpage offers a starting point.

If you have questions or suggestions about this resource, please reach out to justinlangille@ecuad.ca to share your feedback.

Thank you for being part of a community where everyone is valued, respected, and supported. Together, we can uphold our commitment to a safer and more inclusive ECU.
