As you race towards Convocation, there’s a few must-do items to check off your list!

This year’s Convocation features over 500 graduating students expected to walk the stage and complete their academic journey at the Chan Centre on May 8!

Make sure you’ve completed the following items before you cross that stage:

#1 - Grab your tickets

Register for your tickets for the Chan Centre on April 7. You’re allowed two guests to attend, so it’s best to register early due to capacity.

#2 – Complete your Convocation look with Regalia

If you want to rock the regalia look with a gown, hood, and cap, register for your package by April 14. It costs $42 for all three items or $20 for cap and tassel. You can pick up the regalia at the Chan Centre once you register.

At the end of the ceremony, you can keep your cap and tassel once you’ve scooped it from the air!

#3 – Gather the gang for photos with Artona

Whether you’re taking pictures for the family album or corralling a group of friends, book a spot with Artona, a local studio with over 40 years of experience with graduate photography. You can take your photos till June 30, so you’re covered if you’d prefer to take them after the ceremony.

You’ll pay a $60 deposit that can be used towards a purchase later. If you choose not to order, you can return the photos within 30 days for a refund of the $60.

#4 – Nominate a Peer as the Student Speaker

Take a moment to nominate a fellow student who’ll deliver the inspiring, hopeful and often hilarious sendoff speech for Convocation by April 9. You’ll have received the email and can fill out the form with your nominee.

#5 – Use the #EmilyCarrGrad on Social

Want to share photos of your momentous day? Tag @emilycarru to be featured on our Instagram.

#6 – Stop by the Alumni Relations Hub

The Alumni Relations office is here to set you up for success on the big day and beyond. You can grab a gift from the Emily Carr Alumni Association and enter to win door prizes from brands that partner with the Alumni Relations office.

Drop by the grad help desk at the following location:

  • ECU Entrance (Level 2 near Reception)
  • April 29, 30 + May 1, 2 | 11am – 1pm
