Submit your artwork for the long-service recognition by May 31.

The Human Resources (HR) department at Emily Carr University is interested in purchasing a piece of artwork for a permanent collection and displaying it in the HR Office. The selected artwork will also be reproduced as a limited-edition print and gifted to longtime employees who have achieved milestones in years of service as part of ECU’s Long-Service Recognition Program.

Artists will receive $1,500 for the selected artwork.

HR invites all ECU students interested in participating to submit new or existing work for a juried review. Feel free to submit multiple works that you believe meet the selection criteria.

Selection Criteria

The jury will be seeking work that reflects and interprets, in a celebratory way, the rich and diverse nature of our university. The content/theme should reflect a relationship with space and time and align with ECU’s vision and values.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions can include photography, illustration, painting, drawing, sculpture, design works, digital prints, professionally rendered photographs of sculptures or ceramic works, or professionally rendered stills of 2D or 3D animation or film. Images should be formatted as a jpg jpeg, gif, png or pdf.

How to apply

Submissions should include:

  • A short description of work

  • A brief artist statement

  • A digital copy of your work via email with the subject line “Artist Call – ECU Long Service Recognition.”

Please send your application to: hr@ecuad.ca. The selected artist will be announced as part of the Long Service Recognition event.

The deadline for submissions is 12pm on May 31, 2022.
