ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Last summer, my grandmother passed on to me the privilege of taking the responsibility of growing and maintaining our family garden in East Vancouver.

Within these images, two specimens are contained in our institution's studio. Taken near the end of the harvest, they are a culmination of care, growth and teachings passed down from generation to generation.

Truth is said: a garden is good for the soul, for there seems to be nothing more natural than care for our earth.

Emily Carr Students are eligible to submit their work for consideration in the Showcase.
