Solstice Fire uses symbolism of transformation, within the underlying condition of winter as a metaphor for our current time as a period of internalizing and darkness while implying the inevitable progression towards regeneration, warmth and growth.

About the Artist

Hailey Van Elslander is a Winnipeg and Vancouver-based artist. Graduating from Simon Fraser University in 2019 with a BA in Archaeology and First Nations studies, and currently working on a BFA in photography at Emily Carr University.
