Fourth Year

It is a replica of a WWII air raid shelter built from cardboard in my backyard. It was a direct response to sheltering in place, but also a way to connect with my family's memories of the air raid shelter - fusing past difficulties with the present.

About the Artist

Jen Candela is a 4th year visual arts student who uses sculptural installation and photography to explore themes related to memory, human psychology, and cognitive function.
