Ceramics Studio

The Ceramics Studio is a production facility accommodating ceramic methods ranging from the traditional to the experimental. The studio is outfitted with tools and equipment for wheel throwing, handbuilding, slip casting, firing and a wide variety of glazing and finishing techniques. Facilities include: Ceramics Studio (B1160), Slip Casting Room (B1165), Glaze Lab (B1170), Spray Booth (B1162), Plaster Room (B1175), Main Studio (B1185), Electric Kiln Room (B1190) and Gas Kiln Room (B1191).

Request Paid Access Glaze Lab Manual

Access

General Access	Ceramics Studio access is available for students enrolled in CRAM courses.
Orientation	To work in the studio, students are required to complete the Studio Safety Orientation.
Equipment	Most equipment in the studio requires an orientation prior to use. Equipment and/or process demonstrations are instructed during class by either faculty or a studio technician. Students cannot use equipment or work in processes they have not been trained in.
Booking	When working in the studio outside scheduled class time, students should book work sessions via the online booking system.
Request Support	Students and ECU community members who would like access to Ceramics facilities can submit a Request for Support form. Capacity to support each request will be reviewed on an individual basis.
