"It’s an incredible thrill to be selected and to have this project and labour of love that I have put my heart into honoured by the WPO. With this immersive documentary project I have spent the last 5 years traveling across America photographing the US Navy at work and at play. As a Canadian it is a strange obsession to be chasing the American Navy across the continent but it has become my world. It is a great honour that this work has been recognized and I am happy to share my adventures."
The Sony World Photography Awards rewards and recognises the
world’s best contemporary photography from the last year. Attracting
photographers of all abilities, the awards incorporate four
competitions: Professional; Open; Youth and Student. More information
about the awards can be found at World Photography Organisation.
