Who doesn’t love Wikipedia! Here’s your chance to become an editor and make a difference. We invite people of all gender identities and expressions to come and work together on a monthly basis to correct the gender imbalance of Wikipedia and create and edit articles to improve the coverage on feminism, gender and the arts.
Why We Edit
Wikipedia’s gender trouble is well-documented. In a 2018 survey, the Wikimedia Foundation found that less than 10% of its contributors identify as women. While the reasons for the gender gap are up for debate, the practical effect of this disparity is not: content is skewed by the lack of representation from women and nonbinary editors. This represents an alarming absence in an increasingly important repository of shared knowledge. Let’s change that.
