ECU Continuing Studies is hosting a series of panel discussions, to provide up-and-coming designers the opportunity to ask questions, gain insights into the industry, and connect with professional UX Designers. Industry Night events support recent graduates of the User Experience (UX) Design program as they transition into new exciting career paths. Members of the broader ECU community and the general public are welcome to attend as well.

DAY 1 - This UX Life: A Day in the Life of a UX Designer

Time: 5:00 – 6:15pm PST
With responsibilities ranging from research to development and everything in between, the role of a UX Designer can change depending on the organization or project, the designer’s scope of knowledge and expertise, or working with an internal team or external client. This panel will explore the day in the life of a UX Designer from the perspective of established professionals.

DAY 2 - This UX Life: Internships + Interviews

UX Internships offer valuable opportunities to experience real challenges of design work. Whether applying to work with a specific company, industry, design team, or location, internships are competitive and require preparation. This panel will share insights into internship requirements, best practices for the application and interview processes, and what to expect.

This UX Life: breaking into UX

Congratulations, you’ve successfully graduated! What’s next? Developing and refining your portfolio, applying for internships and jobs, participating in hackathons, telling your story; breaking into UX can be both challenging and rewarding. Hear from junior designers and alumni of the UXDes program who followed different paths, and applied their skills to find success.

About The User Experience (UX) Design Certificate

The UX Design Certificate is a full-time intensive program that focuses on equipping students with the fundamentals of UX design for digital products and services. Grounded in a human-centered approach, students develop theoretical, technical, and applied skills in UX design while gaining hands-on experience in real-world case studies, app design and prototyping, digital interface design, and basic coding and programming for the web.
