Steven Brekelmans is a Vancouver based artist. He received a Diploma in Fine Art from the Emily Carr University of Art + Design in 1998 and an MFA from the University of Victoria in 2012. He has been featured in national and international exhibitions, most recently at Kamloops Art Gallery (2019), Hardware Applied Services (Bellingham, 2019), TRAPP PROJECTS (Vancouver, 2019), Chernoff Fine Art (Vancouver, 2019), Dynamo Art Gallery (Vancouver, 2018), Or Gallery (Vancouver and Berlin, 2015 and 2011), CSA Space (Vancouver, 2015) and the Museum of Longing and Failure (Leipzig, Germany, 2013).

Justine A. Chambers is a dance artist living and working on the unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. In her work she privileges what is felt over what is seen, by working with her body as an imperfect recording device to develop a cumulative embodied archive. Recent choreographic projects have been presented at Sophiensaele (Berlin, 2019), Nanaimo Art Gallery (2019), Artspeak (Vancouver, 2019), Hong Kong Arts Festival (2019), Art Museum at University of Toronto (2018), Cantor Fitzgerald Gallery at Haverford College (Philadelphia, 2018), the Vancouver Art Gallery and Burrard Arts Foundation (2018). Agora de la Danse (Montreal, 2017), Festival of New Dance (2017), Mile Zero Dance Society (2017), Canada Dance Festival (2016), Dancing on the Edge (2015), Dance in Vancouver (2013, 2015, 2019) and The Western Front (2013). Chambers is Max Tyler-Hite’s mother.

Brady Cranfield is a Vancouver-based sound and visual artist, musician, writer, and educator. He holds an MA in Communications and an MFA from Simon Fraser University. He is the founder and co-organizer (in collaboration with the artist Kathy Slade) of the ongoing public art project The Music Appreciation Society, and he frequently collaborates with artist Jamie Hilder. He has presented work at the Gordon Smith Gallery for Canadian Art (2018), Or Gallery (2012), the Western Front (2004), the Contemporary Art Gallery, the Charles H. Scott Gallery (2008) and Artspeak (2008) in Vancouver. He is also a member of the improv/electronic/jazz trio Alfred Jarry and the duo Vomit Fraud with Kay Higgins.

Maura Doyle has a multidisciplinary studio practice in Ottawa / Algonquin Anishinaabeg Aki, which has included video, ceramics, sculpture, printed matter and drawing. She holds a BFA from Emily Carr University of Art + Design and an MFA from the University of Guelph. Her work has been exhibited across Canada and internationally, including at Open Studio (Toronto, 2019), Angus-Hughes Gallery (London, 2018), Dalhousie University Art Gallery (Halifax, 2015), Remo (Osaka, 2006), Power Plant (Toronto, 2005), and White Columns (New York, 2004). Doyle is the recipient of the 2017 K.M. Hunter Award for Visual Art; she is represented by Paul Petro Contemporary Art, Toronto.

Claire Greenshaw is an artist working in drawing and sculpture. She received an MFA from the Glasgow School of Art in 2009 and a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, Canada in 2002. She has recently shown her work in solo exhibitions at Clint Roenisch Gallery (Toronto, 2019 and 2017), Mulherin (Toronto, 2015), Khyber Arts Centre (Halifax, 2014), and Helen Pitt Artist Run Centre (Vancouver, 2009). She has participated in many group exhibitions across Canada and internationally, including shows at Judith and Norman ALIX Art Gallery (Sarnia, Ontario, 2016), Fisch Haus (Witchita, Kansas, 2015), Power Plant (Toronto, 2013), Royal Standard (Liverpool, UK, 2010) and Neon Gallery (Brösarp, Sweden, 2007). Greenshaw was co-creator, with Tony Romano, of Millions magazine from 2012-2014. She is represented by Clint Roenisch Gallery in Toronto.

Leisure is a conceptual, collaborative art practice between Meredith Carruthers and Susannah Wesley, both based in Montréal. Working together under the name “Leisure” since 2004, they have produced exhibitions and special projects in Canada and abroad, and participated in residencies at The Rooms (St. John’s, Newfoundland, 2016), KIAC (Dawson City, Yukon, 2010), Kunstverein das weisse haus (Vienna, 2008), and the Banff Centre for the Arts (Alberta, 2007). Their recent research on collaboration, gesture, and spatial narrative has culminated in exhibitions at Calaboose (Montreal, 2019), Erin Stump Projects (Toronto, 2019), Musée d’art de Joliette (Joliette, Quebec, 2018), VU Photo (Quebec City, 2017), Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (2017), EFA Project Space (New York, 2016), and Artexte (Montreal, 2015).

Annie MacDonell is a visual artist working with photography, film, sculpture and installation MacDonell received a BFA from Ryerson University’s School of Image Arts in 2000, followed by graduate studies at Le Fresnoy, Studio National des Arts Contemporains, in Tourcoing, France (2002). In 2019, her films were screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Viennale and the Rotterdam Film Festival. MacDonell’s work has been the focus of recent solo exhibitions at Parisian Laundry (Montreal, 2018), Mulherin New York (2014), Art Gallery of Ontario (2012), Mercer Union Centre for Contemporary Art (Toronto, 2012) and Art Gallery of Windsor (2011). She has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including at The Power Plant (2011), MOCA Cleveland (2013), Le Grand Palais, Paris (2009) and the Daegu Photo Biennale, in South Korea (2012). In 2012 she was long-listed for the Sobey Art Award and short listed for the AGO Grange prize for photography. MacDonell teaches in the photography program at Ryerson University.

Erica Stocking works predominantly in sculpture, installation and performance, and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emily Carr University of Art + Design. She has exhibited art since she graduated in 2004. In 2009 she was awarded Vancouver’s Mayor’s Art Award for Emerging Public Artist and has been awarded numerous major permanent public art commissions in Vancouver and Surrey. Her work has been featured in exhibitions at Artspeak (Vancouver, 2015), Western Front (Vancouver, 2013), the Contemporary Art Gallery (2010), the Vancouver Art Gallery (2009), Richmond Art Gallery (2007) and the Museum of Longing and Failure (Bergen, 2015 ). Stocking was a founding member of the performance art collective Norma. She lived in Vancouver’s Strathcona neighbourhood for over fifteen years, and is now based in Toronto.

Damla Tamer is a visual artist born in Istanbul, Turkey and currently practicing in Vancouver. She has received grants and prizes, including the Andrew MacIntosh Memorial Book Prize in Fine Arts from University of British Columbia’s Department of Art History, Visual Art and Theory, and has participated in artist residencies and exhibitions in Canada, Turkey and Europe, including a two-year residency at Borusan Art Center in Istanbul (2008-2009). Her work has been the focus of solo exhibitions at Darling Foundry (Montreal, 2013) and the fifty fifty arts collective (Victoria, 2018). She is a member of the artist-run Dynamo Arts Association and the Vancouver-based artist mothers collective A.M. (Art Mamas). She has taught at various academic institutions including the University of British Columbia, UBC Okanagan and Emily Carr University of Art + Design.
