An exhibition of artists and designers with place-based, material research practices that consider an ethos of environmental responsibility and connection to the land. The show will feature handcrafted physical materials including inks, dyes, textiles, biomaterials and ceramics derived from natural and sustainable sources. Roots of Place asks: what considerations exist around material ethics and how can artists and designers respond to the ecological moment we exist in?
Roots of Place features the works of Dilveen Abi, Ava Buckley, Melanie Camman, Gwenyth Chao, Erick Jantzen, Danika Oystrek, Mason Sorbara, Camila Szefler, Paula Maria Torres Urzua, Eden Zinchik.
