SVAVA TERGESEN (b. 1993) is an artist living and working on the unceded and traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. Her work combines photography with sculpture and collage in order to reimagine everyday experiences of domesticity. Recent solo exhibitions include Ornamental Cookery, Audain Art Museum, Whistler (2023); Looking for Representation, Macaulay & Co. Fine Art, Vancouver, BC (2022); and Garnished Sundries, Telephone Gallery, Vancouver, BC (2022). Her work has been nominated for the New Generation Photography Award (2021) and the Lind Prize (2020). Tergesen holds a BFA in Photography from Emily Carr University of Art & Design (2020).
Resonance is a speaker series hosted by the Photography + New Media and Sound Art programs in the Audain Faculty of Art at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, and organized by Peter Bussigel and Gonzalo Reyes Rodriguez.
