Pollinator Pasture Picnic | Doors Open Richmond
The City of Richmond, in collaboration with Emily Carr University and BC Hydro, established a 1,000 foot pollinator pasture (or wildflower meadow) in 2015, designed to attract a variety of native pollinators including bees and butterflies.
As part of the 9th annual Doors Open Richmond celebration, you're invited to take a tour of Richmond's first-ever pollinator pasture designed for native pollinator species. Bring a picnic to enjoy "the buzz" in the park and an afternoon full of community activities. Learn about native pollinator species, native bee habitat an dhow you can help by becoming a citizen scientist.
Since 2014, the City of Richmond has been making ecological enhancements to the park to support the Bath Slough Revitalization Initiative. As part of this work, the City, in collaboration with Emily Carr University and BC Hydro, established a 1,000 foot pollinator pasture (or wildflower meadow) in 2015, which is designed to attract a variety of native pollinators including bees and butterflies.
