For the final phase of our SSHRC Insight Grant, LOoW (Leaning Out of Windows) has been looking at ideas informing the pluriverse. This term implies the existence of many worlds somehow interconnected, coexisting in time and space. We are inspired by this term as a capacious description of our varied relational interests and diverse fields of engagements. We see its influence in theoretical quantum physics, artistic practices and the spiritual realms of multiple dimensions. The pluriverse challenges hierarchies of power and knowledge bringing forth different perspectives and realities.
The Pluriverse-ing Exhibition has been developed and organized by eleven Research Assistants comprised of MFA and MDes students at Emily Carr University.
The opening reception is on Saturday March 20, 2 - 4 pm.
