Meymey'em International Indigenous Artist Gathering | Open House
Please join us for our Open House event as part of the 2022 Meymey'em Gathering.
Meymey’em is an International Indigenous Artist Gathering of re-connection + collaboration to promote and perpetuate Indigenous art, education, and culture. Emily Carr University's Aboriginal Gathering Place will host the Gathering from June 14th to June 22nd, 2022.
The Aboriginal Gathering Place cordially invites you to attend an Open House event featuring a meet and greet with participating artists on Monday, June 20 from 1:30-4:30pm. Visitors will have an opportunity to view the various processes including carving, fibre arts and mixed media, tanning and dyeing, beading, quills and tufting, and painting and printmaking, and chat with the artists.
Master Carvers and creators of the Northern Wolves totem pole, Dempsey Bob (Tahltan-Tlingit), Lyonel Grant (Māori and Pakeha) and Stan Bevan (Tahltan-Tlingit and Tsimshian) will provide an artist talk.
