M.E. Sparks, Matthis Grunsky | Inside Out

Alumni M.E. Sparks and Matthis Grunsky embark on their newest collaboration, Inside Out, a colourful commentary on spaces of creation.
Alumni M.E. Sparks (2016) and Matthis Grunsky (2016) have teamed up once again for Inside Out, an exhibit examining the notion of the artist's studio with all of its mythos and connotations. Framed from the reality of present day Vancouver, a city where renting a space to make art is a pricey challenge for most creatives, Inside Out looks at the lingering impression that old depictions of the lives of artists has on modern artists. Sparks and Grunsky transform the mundane implements of artist's studios into art itself, bright and urgent and colourful, simultaneously elevating spaces of creation to places of utmost importance and dispelling the inherited mystique surrounding them.
Inside Out will be taking place on Saturday June 16 at SiteFactory, a mobile art gallery in a converted school bus which will be parked at 1670 Franklin Street for the exhibit.
