Info Session | BIPOC Student Grants
BIPOC students interested in applying for the Anti-Racism Student Action + Response (ARSAR) Fund or the Community Enhancement Fund can ask questions and get more information in this info session.
Two new funds have been created to support student-led initiatives aimed at transforming ECU, strengthening community, and building multi-racial solidarity:
- Anti-Racist Student Action + Response (ARSAR) Fund: Apply by December 4
- Community Enhancement Fund: Apply by December 4
As part of our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusivity, we recognize that systemic racism is embedded in the fabric of our cultural institutions, including ECU. As part of our dedicated efforts to dismantle these oppressive systems, these funds will be reserved for BIPOC students.
For the purposes of these awards, the term BIPOC is intended to encompass a variety of diasporic and racialized identities. Any current undergraduate, graduate student, or recent 2020 alumni who identifies as Black, Indigenous or a Person of Colour is invited to apply.
Steven Lam, Associate Vice President of Research and Dean of the Jake Kerr Faculty of Graduate Studies, will be hosting this interactive info session for students interested in applying to these awards.
Please attend to ask questions, get more information, and discuss your project ideas.
Students can also contact Steven directly with their questions by emailing: stevenlam@ecuad.ca.
