Consultant Katherine Benjamin will discuss light case studies and examples, provide hands-on tips, and give a forward-looking view to help students think about finding a job. The talk will be followed by a brief Q&A.
Katherine Benjamin is a consultant who focuses on projects that use technology for good. She has worked as the Deputy Chief Technology Officer for Digital Services for the City of New York, and as an Assistant Deputy Minister and Chief Digital Officer of Canada.
Previously, Katherine was the Vice President of Service Design at Ayogo, a company twice recognized globally as one of the top 100 most innovative digital health companies. Her experience in public sector digital transformation includes launching the Ontario Digital Service’s rapid prototyping and user research labs, and working on the NHS.UK Alpha inception team. As a sessional instructor, Katherine has taught undergraduate classes, and been an external examiner for masters students at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. As an Advisor at Columbia University, she recently co-led a structured curriculum review to update the Technology Management graduate program in the School of Professional Studies.
Katherine has a Master of Science in Health, Community and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and completed her undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia.
