As a guest, Pete Nash will be addressing the breadth of his animation career and describe his process for creating an animation performance.

Pete Nash is a Head of Character Animation at Sony Pictures Imageworks. His career in animation spans 28 years. As HOCA Pete oversaw the animation on CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 1 and 2, as well as ANGRY BIRDS 1 and 2. Pete was a lead on the critically acclaimed SURFS UP, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, won two Annie Awards and was nominated for a total of ten Annie Awards and four VES awards. Pete also supplied additional leadership and development work on SMALLFOOT and SPIDERMAN-ACROSS THE SPIDER VERSE, as well as animating on HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3 and MITCHELL'S VS THE MACHINES. Prior to joining Imageworks, Pete animated for Blue Sky Studios on the 20th Century Fox production of ROBOTS. Pete launched his feature animation career at Pixar animating on such classics as A BUGS LIFE, TOY STORY 2, MONSTERS INC and FINDING NEMO. While working at Pixar, Pete taught animation at the San Francisco Academy of Art and always knew one day he would return to teaching.
