Cultural Fabric takes a look at Indigenous culture through the lens of four different ECU artists.

Indigenous artistic expressions continually shift in response to cultural circumstances and facilitates the reinvention and re-interpretation of traditional practices. This exhibition challenges notions about how Indigenous art is created and perceived, with works ranging from a variety of artistic disciplines and materials including, fur, hide, wool and cedar.

The exhibition, curated by ECU's Aboriginal Program Director, Brenda Crabtree, draws from work undertaken at the University's Aboriginal Gathering Place.

The Craft Council of British Columbia is a charitable arts service organization which supports all stages of artistic practice in the craft sector; creates opportunities for artists to exhibit, sell and produce art; provides a voice for artists and craft organizations and aids in the development of active communities around craft. All of the Council's activities are targeted to increase the audience for contemporary craft.
