The iconic director of Chilemonos 2013, Shin'ichirô Watanabe, will also visit our school to give a Masterclass. In this activity, the Japanese filmmaker, screenwriter and anime producer will review the highlights of his extensive and unique career.
We are pleased to invite you to be part of the 1st version of the Latin American Festival Chilemonos (CHM) in Vancouver.
From Monday, October 21 through Friday, October 25, CHM in Vancouver will hold a series of ticketed activities open to the public. This Animation Festival brings together the best of Chile, Latin America and Chilemonos.
In this context, Emily Carr University of Art + Design will host the following events on campus Thursday, October 24:
Oscar-winning Chilean director Gabriel Osorio and Academy Award nominee Chilean director Hugo Covarrubias will visit our school for a screening and Q&A.
Sofía Rosales (Mexico) who is the current production supervisor of Laika's art department for their new feature film, ‘Wildwood’, together with Laika's animator, Kristian Larsen, will conduct a Stop Motion Workshop.

By hosting this masterclass, Emily Carr University of Art + Design is entitled to 33% of the venue in which this event will take place.
The box office will open exclusively for the ECU community, this Monday, October 7, three days before the general opening. Places are limited, so please register for the event in good time.
This event will take place on Thursday 24 October 2024 at 18:00 at the Reliance Theatre.
