Capilano Watershed Tour with Senaqwila Wyss
Presented by the Emily Carr Library and DESIS Lab as a part of Climate Action Month, this walk is an opportunity to learn about the Capilano watershed and source of our drinking water through Sḵwx̱wú7mesh stories and language.

Senaqwila Wyss is an ethnobotanist from Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, Tsmsyen, Hawaiian, Swiss. Senaqwila and Husband Justin work to raise their three daughters to revitalize the Squamish language use on a daily basis. She co owns Raven and Hummingbird Tea Co. with mom, ethnobotanist T’uy’t’tanat Cease Wyss. She is passionate to bring awareness to the now extinct Salish Woolly Dog.
Senaqwila graduated from Simon Fraser University, holding a Bachelors of the Arts in Faculty of Communications, Arts and Technology, in addition to certificate and diploma in the First Nations Language Proficiency in the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Sníchim, Squamish Language. She is a cultural programmer, keynote and panel speaker to many events and conferences. She is a storyteller and language and cultural teacher.
