Join the Art Gallery Evergreen for an artist talk and launch of the exhibition catalogue Ben Reeves: Floating among Phantoms in conjunction with the current exhibition.

The illustrated catalogue includes a curatorial essay by Katherine Dennis that focuses on the exhibition's themes and literary inspiration; an essay by painter and ECU alumna M.E. Sparks that considers the material nature of Reeve's painting practice, linking past and present work; and an interview with the artist conducted by curator and ECU alumna, Daina Augaitis.

The exhibition runs through June 30, 2018.

Ben Reeves’ drawing and painting practice is an intensive, personal accounting of perception and how the world is realized through pictures. He has exhibited his work extensively in national venues as well as in the US, England and China. His work has been featured and reviewed in Canadian Art, Border Crossings, The National Post, and The Globe and Mail.

Reeves received a BFA from the University of British Columbia and an MA from Chelsea College of art and Design, UK. He is represented by the Equinox Gallery in Vancouver and Jessica Bradley Art Gallery in Toronto.

Reeves is currently Associate Professor in the Audain Faculty of Art and in the Jake Kerr Faculty of Graduate Studies at Emily Carr University.
