ECU faculty member Jim Holyoak invites you to an online talk with artist Sahej Rahal.

Rahal’s presentation at ECU will focus on the formation of contemporary myths and their enmeshment within society. His talk will explore various processes of myth-making, including rituals, artifacts, painted manuscripts and artificial intelligence, and their potential as tools of reimagining possible worlds.

About Sahej Rahal

Sahej Rahal is an artist based in Mumbai, India. Primarily a storyteller, Sahej weaves together fact and fiction to create counter-mythologies. Drawn upon sources ranging from local legends to science fiction, Rahal’s myth-world takes the form of sculptures, drawings and AI programs. Rahal’s participation in exhibitions include the Liverpool Biennial, the Kochi Biennale, the Vancouver Biennale, the MACRO Museum Rome, Kadist SF, ACCA Melbourne and CCA Glasgow.
