Antiracism, Feminism, and Multiracial Solidarity Practices

Dr. Judith Flores Carmona is Associate Professor in the Honors College and Interim Director of Chicano Programs at New Mexico State University. Her research interests include critical pedagogy, Chicana/Latina feminist theory, critical race feminism, critical multicultural education, social justice education, and testimonio methodology and pedagogy. Her work has appeared in Equity and Excellence in Education, Race Ethnicity and Education, and the Journal of Latino/Latin American Studies among other venues. She has co-edited and co-authored Chicana/Latina Testimonios as Pedagogical, Methodological, and Activist Approaches to Social Justice, Crafting Critical Stories: Toward Pedagogies and Methodologies of Collaboration, Inclusion & Voice, and Un-Standardizing Curriculum: Multicultural Teaching in the Standards-Based Classroom.

Dr. Lauren Rosenberg is Associate Professor of Rhetoric and Writing Studies and Director of First-Year Writing at the University of Texas at El Paso. She is the author of The Desire for Literacy: Writing in the Lives of Adult Learners. Threaded through all Lauren’s scholarship is a commitment to advocating for equity through community engagement and public activism. A feminist imperative of listening intensively for honest critical action shapes Lauren’s teaching and administrative practices. She is currently involved with an anti-racist task force in her college to reinvigorate the core curriculum with a focus on racial justice.
