Design for Startups | 2019 Showcase
Hear from ten student designers on their experiences collaborating with ten local companies.
D2315 | Emily Carr University (520 E 1st Ave)
Everyone is invited to an evening of presentations by design students on the research they conducted through the Design for Startups program. Each designer will give a 5-minute presentation summarizing the work they concluded with the ten participating BC-based startup companies.
Between January and March 2019, ten student designers worked directly with the technical and business leads of ten BC companies to explore and develop a new methodology for connecting design to Internet startups. Student designers considered existing design gaps, perform user interface/usability studies, and develop design strategies for the companies in residence. Now they'll present their final work.
Design for Startups is a unique program in which student designers join early-stage company teams to work on a specific design problem. It is supported by Innovate BC and is a project of the Shumka Centre for Creative Entrepreneurship.
