Join us in the Animation Studio to meet Bill Plympton, one of the wackiest and most prolific independent animators! Bill Plympton is one of the most distinctive artists in the world. His unique visual style and subversive sense of humor are a testament to the wickedly creative sensibility that has earned him both critical celebration and a rabid following. Plympton will be sharing his story, showing films, and drawing.

Bill Plympton is considered the King of Indie Animation, and was the first person to hand-draw an entire animated feature. In 1987, he was nominated for an Oscar for his animated short Your Face, and received another nomination for his short Guard Dog in 2005. Since 1991 he’s made 8 animated features: The Tune, Mondo Plympton, I Married a Strange Person, Mutant Aliens, Hair High, Idiots & Angels, Cheatin’ and Revengeance. Bill has also collaborated with Madonna, Kanye West and “Weird Al” Yankovic on a number of music videos. In 2006, he received the Winsor McCay Lifetime Achievement award from The Annie Awards. He's animated six “Couch Gags” for the FOX-TV show The Simpsons and is currently working on a new feature titled Slide.
