Introductory Houdini (CSSO 108)
This course introduces you to Side Effects Houdini 3D software, an industry-standard software essential for visual effects artists. Learn the fundamentals of using Houdini, from basic FX concepts and navigating the interface, to manipulating nodes, running simulations and rendering images. This course will go through the basics of Object Level, dops, sops, rops, core Houdini nodes and vex/hscript. Through demonstrations and hands-on practice, you will learn to set up basic procedural modeling, pop, RBD and pyro sims, apply basic shaders and render the sequence. This course is designed for beginners and those new to visual effects, but previous knowledge of 3D concepts and software (Maya or Blender) is strongly recommended.
