Illustration for Client-Based Work (CSIL 111)
Commercial and editorial Illustration involves applying your creative and technical skills, and working closely client and designers. This course explores professional practices in illustration, from reviewing and understanding a client brief, to effective communication and problem solving, and techniques for conveying concepts on behalf of your client. Through exercises, assignments and case studies you will learn how to navigate the field as a professional illustrator, build a personal brand to reach your audience, and understand the implications of contract and client-based work. This course allows for the exploration and expansion of your personal illustrative style, while also learning to be responsive to client expectations, art direction and feedback.
