A selection of recent works will be on view May 28 - July 2.

We are pleased to share the news that Monte Clark Gallery is now representing alumnus Jeremy Hof ('07)!

Known for his conceptual model of production and unconventional use of paint, Jeremy Hof has emerged as an outstanding voice in contemporary Canadian painting. His paintings are compellingly sculptural, built from countless layers of acrylic paint over an extended time period in his studio. Many are strategically hand-sanded to expose their construction, revealing the artist's premeditated colour aesthetic, whether subtly gradient, strikingly optic, or sometimes psychedelic and kaleidoscopic.

Hof's work has been exhibited at the National Gallery of Canada, the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Ottawa Art Gallery, the Richmond Art Gallery, Galerie de l'UQAM, the Mendel Art Gallery, the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal, the Power Plant, the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art (MOCCA), and numerous other venues. His work is collected by the Vancouver Art Gallery, BMO collection, RBC collection, TD Bank collection, and others. In 2008, Hof was the winner of the RBC Painting Competition.

A selection of Hof's recent works will be on view at Monte Clark Gallery May 28 - July 2, to coincide with exhibitions by Graham Gillmore ('85) and Mari Eastman. An opening reception will take place Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 2 - 4pm.
